Yeah..your interview is way more interesting than mine. LOL.

SF sounds like a great place to run, that is a definitely one of the places I'd like to run a marathon. When you said, "my coach", I had a feeling it was Caleb. He actually helped me out when I was training for my first half. I'm about to do my first full in June, so that should be exciting. You know I always hear you guys talk about RunTalkRadio, but still haven't had a chance to check it out. Hearing how much fun you have, I must do it now.. And DailyMile FTW! I actually learned about it when asking at another forum, so I definitely lucked out there. I forget, are you part of the DM team, I know a couple of people on it..Good luck in 2010, sounds like it's shaping out to be a great year :)

Daily mile is totally worth it, in my opinion. I struggle with being social, but I find the benefits of having all of your hard work online is empowering. Plus you get to see how many donuts you've burned/earned!

I have heard of dailymile now from a few people, but what if you really aren't that social? I like to run and use the internet to keep track of my workouts, but I don't necessarily want to talk a lot. Is dailymile still worth it just for the running log?

Hi Kathy, I followed the link here from your dailymile post. I always thought xc skiing looked like a lot of fun! Years ago, in Northern Ohio, my wife and I wanted to try it, and were on the verge of buying skis. We liked to hike in local parks, and thought xc would let us enjoy the parks year-around. It was late in the Winter, and we decided to wait until the next Winter to buy skis. Just as well-- I got transferred to South Texas the following Spring!

Looks like a lot of similarities with running; relying on leg power, and endurance has to be a big factor!

Great story!

The Nike Marathon is amazing. It's very well support (they did run out of chocolate towards the end though) and the hills aren't too bad if you make sure to get in some hill training. It's a women's focused race so it's fun to "Run Like a Girl". I train with Team In Training (TNT) of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (which is the benefiting charity of the race) and they make it such a great weekend by taking care of all the arrangements and if you don't get in by the lottery, they're the only way in. I love them! Check them out www.teamintraing.org

How was the Nike marathon? I have a ladies running club and we are considering several different marathons for fall 2010. Was it horribly hilly? Were there adequate stations? Would you do it again?
