The Best Advice: Henrik Olsen
Running advice can come from anyone who knows how to put one foot in front of the other. The best running advice comes from the people with experience running, racing, and living a life filled with endurance. “The Best Advice” is a series of interviews with endurance athletes that highlights some of the rules they live by in a hope to pass along their lessons learned on the run.
Recently I had an opportunity to participate in a race with a fellow endurance athlete here in San Francisco, Henrik Olsen. Henrik is a seasoned triathlete, holding several Iron Man finishes. Beyond competing in triathlons, Henrik likes to test his endurance skills on the marathon course. He and I ran together for a few miles of the California International Marathon on December 7th, but he soon took off to finish with a new personal best.
After all of the excitement was over, I sat down with Henrik to talk about competing in triathlons, running marathons, and living his life as a distance athlete.
