Documented: ’09 Goals
It’s New Year’s Eve, and as I reflect on 2008, I find myself once again indulging in the yearly ritual of goal setting. My list of goals seems to roll over from year to year, becoming a bit more challenging with age.
Last year’s list:
- Run the New York City Marathon
- Run a personal best in the marathon
- Stay injury free
- Stay motivated and happy about running
I’m lucky enough to have completed most of my goals, but I fell short on one. I injured my IT band, and developed tendinitis in my right foot this year. In 2009 I’ll be focusing on getting back to 100% and making sure my muscles are strong and flexible so that I can avoid injury.
2009 Running Goals:
- Get healthy, strong, and flexible muscles that will help me stay injury free
- Run a 3:30 marathon
- Qualify for Boston
- Run a marathon over seas
- Join a running club
- Help inspire and motivate other runners
- Stay happy and excited about running
So there you have it, I now feel accountable to accomplishment, and I have 365 days to do it. Thanks for a great year, and good luck to everyone in 2009! I can’t wait to hear how it goes!
